Admissions
Applications for the 2019/2020 school year are due by February 1, 2019. Initial enrollment decisions will be made by March 1, 2019. Applications received after February 1, 2019 will be considered on a case by case basis as space allows. Space is limited and our classes fill fast, we encourage parents to submit applications as soon as possible. 5th grade applicants will receive enrollment preference.
Our admissions process begins with an admissions tour for parents/guardians (and school district representatives when applicable). Tours last approximately one hour and include admissions information, a student-led tour of the school building, and time for questions and answers. The admissions tour and meeting will last approximately one hour. Please note: these tours are for adults only; do not bring potential students. Students will have an opportunity to visit Bridges later in the application process.
The application process involves several steps, as follows:
The following documents are needed to process an application.
School Application
The School Application (PDF)>>> should be completed by the subject teachers and counselor who have worked most closely with your child over the last year. Please ask them to complete each question and provide additional comments, then mail the form directly to Bridges.
Family Application (PDF) >>>
The Family Application gives us a deeper understanding of your child’s specific needs and history. Please provide detailed responses and include a recent photo so we have a face to go with their file. The Student Writing Sample is a key piece of the Family Application that will give us insight into their perspective and how they express themselves.
Supplemental Documentation
The Supplemental Documentation includes copies of any relevant reports, evaluations, cognitive and/or academic testing for the student. If your child is on an IEP or 504 plan, please include a complete and most recent copy. If your child has had a psychological or psychiatric evaluation, please include a most recent copy. You may also include copies of any other applicable documentation from helping professionals that work with your child. If your child currently has an IEP or 504 Plan, please attach a copy. Also, please include past report cards, particularly the most current. If your child has been evaluated in the past by a private psychiatrist/psychologist/therapist, etc., please include copies of their report(s). Also, if your child has had a psychological evaluation at school, please provide a copy.
Testing allows us to better understand your child’s specific learning needs and develop curriculum to address those needs. We traditionally have requested the two Weschler tests (Weschler Individual Achievement Test [WIAT or WIAT-II]and Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children [WISC-IV]). However, If your child has had other similar testing (i.e. Woodcock-Johnson III, Iowa Test of Basic Skills [ITBS], Oregon standardized testing [OAKS], Stanford-Binet), please submit with your application prior to scheduling any other testing.
Non-disclosure in Admissions
Non-disclosure of information, or untruthful information, related to previous behavior, education, emotional regulation, or substance abuse history in the application process may be grounds for immediate dismissal from Bridges Middle School.

The application process involves several steps, as follows:
- Parents visit during the school day and meet individually with the Principal. A student-led tour of the school is included.
- Parents submit application forms (see below for links) and provide other written information such as recent report cards, testing, IEP or other evaluations that provide useful information about the student. A $100 application fee is required at this time.
- Our Admissions Committee reviews the application, and the student may then be invited to meet with the committee for a brief visit/assessment (approximately 30 minutes).
- If it is felt that the student matches our school’s profile, the student will be invited for an all-day shadow at Bridges. A final decision regarding acceptance will then be made by the Admissions Committee, and parents will be contacted by March 1, 2019, or as soon as possible.
