We are excited to share that our Ravens teacher, Todd Valentine, will present at the NCTM 2026 Spring Conference happening March 16-18 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
NCTM’s Spring Conference is one of the most respected gatherings of math educators in the country. This year’s theme, “Rhythm, Roots, & Reasoning: Cultivating Joie de Vivre in Mathematics,” invites teachers to rethink how we spark joy, curiosity, and deep understanding in math classrooms. The conference will celebrate creativity, collaboration, and fresh thinking in mathematics education.
Sharing a Powerful Model for Learning
Todd will co-present the following session with Dori Isakson, founder of Unbound Potential Learning Labs.
- The One-Room Math Schoolhouse: Multi-Age Inquiry for Equity
Tuesday, March 17, 2026
4pm – 5pm
The session explores a multi-age, inquiry-driven approach to mathematics learning, where students of different ages work collaboratively to investigate meaningful questions and develop deep mathematical understanding.
This presentation is part of the conference strand Mathematics with Soul: Teaching With Intentionality, highlighting instructional approaches that honor student voice, curiosity, and rigorous mathematical thinking.
A Reflection of Who We Are
For those of you who know Todd, this opportunity comes as no surprise. His classroom is one where students ask big questions, wrestle with meaningful problems, and discover that STEM disciplines are both creative and deeply human.
Upon learning Todd would be presenting at this year’s NCTM Spring Conference, Dr. Carrie Hall shared, “Todd brings an energy and intentionality to his teaching that inspires students and colleagues alike. His selection to present at NCTM affirms what we see every day: our teachers are leaders in their field. We are proud that his work will contribute to the national conversation about equity, inquiry, and joyful learning.”
Please join us in congratulating Todd on this exciting professional milestone!
