Bridges Middle School is fortunate to have a professional, creative, knowledgeable and caring staff and board of directors, who fully understand the unique learning needs of middle school students. We believe that effective, ethical leadership, fiscal responsibility, and community partnerships are fundamental to achieving and sustaining student success.
Many community volunteers contribute their gifts to the school as members of Bridges’ Board of Directors. Bridges’ directors have strong ties to the education, financial, legal and nonprofit communities in Portland and are dedicated to the school’s mission.

As a Bridges alum parent, Cathy knows firsthand the impact of a school where neurodivergent students are truly known, supported, and challenged to grow. As Board Chair, she will help guide our work in governance, strategic stewardship, and Bridges’ long-term future.
And as we begin this new chapter, we’re growing our Board, too.
We’re looking for thoughtful, engaged parents, alumni families, professionals, and community members who believe in creating educational environments where neurodivergent students can thrive.
Experience in finance, law, fundraising, marketing, business leadership, education, disability advocacy, facilities, or nonprofit governance is especially valuable—but most important is a genuine commitment to our mission.
